Qualifications: MSC
William is a very experienced ecologist across a range of disciplines and ecosystems in Aoteraoa/New Zealand. He has appeared as an expert witness evidence on assessments of ecological effects throughout New Zealand, including Board of Enquiry/Environment Court and Planning Tribunal cases. He has provided policy advice to numerous Councils. He also is very experienced in ecological restoration, ecological significance assessments and natural area surveys.
He is a Crown-appointee to Te Pua O Whirinaki Regeneration Trust, working with Ngāti Whare. He is a previous member of the Whirinaki Conservation Park Advisory Committee (member five years, Chairperson three years), and the East Coast National Parks and Reserves Board.
As Wildlands Lead Principal Ecologist, William is responsible for peer review and quality of Wildlands reports.
